12noon – 1pm
Burk Hall 247, SFSU
Featuring: Dr. Claudia Chaufan, MD, PhD Assistant Professor of
Sociology and Health Policy, UCSF
Vice President of California Physicians Alliance (CaPA)
The healthcare debate in Washington, D.C. continues, and House and
Senate leaders are coming close to passing what is described as
“historic” legislation. But how sweeping are the reforms being
proposed? Are these changes a significant step towards coverage for
all? Dr. Claudia Chaufan will present an international perspective on
universal healthcare and explain why the United States is so far ahead
in healthcare spending but so far behind in positive health outcomes.
Come find out about how you can get involved in the movement for
Single Payer. Light refreshments will be served!
